Sorry, system is a PC164 (Microway 500MHz Screamer) with 128 Mb RAM.

As far as I know, X was not running at the time (it's a networked multi-user host).  
The video card is a Diamond Stealth 64 Video 3200 (S3 964).

Booting from ARC.

I will try the old kernel as soon as I can get users off the machine.
