netscape dns problem-- new devel

I figured something out which might help anyone that has
been keeping up with the little problem I am having with
DU Netscape 4.5 on my system 2.2pre3.

To recap, I have have my network config setup working via PPP,
lynx, fetchmail, telnet, nslookup all work perfectly.  When
I go into netscape, it does not recognize any domain names 
except localhost.

What I've realized is that it does translate domains that are in 
my /etc/hosts file.  So, i've manually added 4-5 domains which
I like to access graphically.

Can anyone think of a reason why it is not doing DNS lookups?
I've got the svc.conf file in the right place, as well as the sia 
directory, etc..etc..
