This is of course right, but you don't need to know, that the libs are
fixed to compile from scratch, or am I wrong here? 

AFAIK, Martin has fixed the slashdot display error, but you shouldn't
waste
your time in install from scratch again. Instead take the bug fixed and
search for new.
