If you're going to use the workshop stuff, you need to do a complete build with it - ie don't start with any gcc stuff lying around (rm -rf ns/dist/* ought to clean everything up - as well as a make clean). It might be the case that gmake doesn't think the files need compiling because they compiled with gcc, but sun's linker can't find them since the mangling schemes used by gcc and sun C++ are different (I think they are - don't quote me on this ;-)
