MySQL and Linux Red Hat or Caldra ??

Here are questions I have concerning MySQL.  I am debating on
Red Hat or Caldra for an operating system. Does MySQL run
smoother on one than the other.

I have choosen a Compaq Proliant 3000 Hot Swap RAID 5 for my web
Server.
